May 06, 2019 Wedding Anniversary Wishes No comments

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish is much more than just a nice thing. And its reach extends far beyond a single.

I was shopping for home decor items for about a month, no problems. I purchased 3 sets of outdoor lights, each from a different vendor or supplier from China. I received notification that my orders had gone through and were due to be shipped. That was a weekend. I loaded my debit card on file with the company to pay bills due that following week. On Tuesday, my husband called and told me his phone payment failed, and then found out that so had his vehicle payment. This is a common problem, notably with China vendors, on this site. Vendors have access to our financial information. Home/Wish does not have any payment protection or security in place. Vendors can take your financial information AND GO SHOPPING! Happened to me. Yesterday and I've contacted the companies to seek help to no avail. I've gotten a complete runaround!! I spent a lot of money to decorate a home we just bought in April. Once the last of my purchases arrive, I'm OUT $160 and my payroll debit card from my workplace IS NO LONGER SECURE! I have to change it due to this company's TOTAL LACK of financial protection for their customers! I mean, whoever it was took my debit info and shopped a website in JAPAN selling sneakers & made purchases from a competing home decor site to sell online, to further their business. And the runaround I got makes the idea of such a vast array of low-priced items NOT ONE BIT WORTH THE HASSLE that comes with it.

Wellness and Independence for Seniors at Home (WISH) provides free, confidential health surveys for seniors with Medicare who live independently in the community.

While many people remain active and engaged in later life, older adults are at risk for a variety of health problems. WISH aims to reduce avoidable hospital use by connecting older adults to the services they need before their health declines. Working with a variety of community partners WISH identifies people in jeopardy of declining health, and connects them with the services and support they need to remain independent and out of the hospital for as long as possible.

Health coaching from WISH helps older adults to remain independent and age-in-place. Benefits include:

  • Improved health and well-being
  • Greater sense of independence and self-confidence
  • Stabilized health to keep seniors out of the hospital
  • Smoother transitions from hospital to home
  • Connection to community-based services

It starts with a simple health survey. A WISH Health Coach meets with seniors who may be eligible to discuss their health concerns and assess their risk for declining health.

People who are at high risk for hospitalization receive ongoing health coaching from WISH. Health coaching helps older adults remain independent and age-in-place. The WISH Health Coach works with individuals to identify the different community-based services and supports that could help keep them out of the hospital and develops a personalized plan to connect them to the resources in the community that can help them stay active, independent, and in their home.

Health coaching goes beyond simply explaining the health plan. Health Coaches work in a close partnership with their clients, helping to connect them to a variety of community based services ranging from transportation to ordering medical supplies. Once all the components of the plan are in place, the Health Coach teaches individuals how to manage the plan independently to make sure there is no gap in services.

People who may qualify for WISH:

  • Are age 65+
  • Live in a house or apartment
  • Have Medicare
  • Live in Montgomery County or North-West Prince George’s County

WISH health coaching is provided by The Coordinating Center.  Health coaching services are paid for by Nexus Montgomery.

I Wish I Was At Home (Playing Videogames) is an exploitable comic series in which the subject is depicted as anxious and uncomfortable at parties and other social situations. Many variations of the image feature That Feel Guy.

The earliest known usage of the phrase in an image macro dates back to December 16th, 2009, when an image of That Feel Guy at the party was uploaded to the Internet humor site Sad and Useless (shown below).

On October 22nd, 2011, YouTuber Jedi Mocro uploaded a video titled "I wish I was at home playing videogames," featuring an uncomfortable man standing in a loud club (shown below).

On July 19th, 2014, FunnyJunk user joaomartins posted a Tumblr-themed version of the comic (shown below, left). On August 15th, a compilation of notable examples was posted by user forakens. On August 23rd, a Habbo Hotel-themed version of the image was posted by Tumblr user habbomemez (shown below, right).

“When the elevators open, you get this terrible stench,” Ms. Stefanides said of DeWitt’s upper floors at night. “I was hearing people screaming for help and nobody coming. My father was on the verge of tears — in his defecation for three hours, and he kept ringing the bell.”

(DeWitt’s lawyer, Neil Ptashnik, now says: “The only comment the facility has is: We’re well run, adequately staffed, we’ve had no problems with the Department of Health, and our residents seem quite happy.”)

The nursing home sent him to the hospital after 10 days, with a recurrent infection from an improperly placed catheter, medical records show. The hospital soon discharged him to the next nursing home, Jewish Home Lifecare, where orders for therapy and skilled services brought the price of his care up to $682.48 daily under Medicare.

Ben Taylor, a lawyer at the New York Legal Assistance Group, thought he could break the cycle. By law, he said, the state should require Gentiva to reinstate eight hours of daily home care pending a fair hearing. Meanwhile, Ms. Stefanides should contact managed-care plans, which were not supposed to rule out round-the-clock home care.

But she reached receptionists who said 24-hour care was unavailable. Jewish Home insisted her father could not safely go home with less. And day by day in the nursing home, he was sinking.

On arrival May 22 last year, Mr. Andrey was “alert and verbal,” with a good appetite, clinical notes said. Less than a week later, he was eating only half his food. On Day 12, he was found on the floor: He had fallen from bed, hurting his knee.

By Day 14, when Medicare had spent nearly $10,000 on his care, a pressure sore was eroding the flesh of his right heel. Despite treatment, ulcers later covered his left buttock and feet. When physical therapy ended, the wounds became another reason for the institution to extend his stay, now costing Medicare $585.49 a day.
