In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt. 6 of 21. Spring Quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson Earth Laughs. Betsy Farrell.
The first day of spring. I don’t know the date of the first day of any other season, but I know today very well. I love spring for so many reasons. It’s a season of renewal and promise. A season of resurrection and hope. For me though, it’s also a season of loss. We lost my mother 19 years ago today. I remember it like it was yesterday. She had lung cancer, so while her death was expected, I was still unprepared. I still remember the phone call from my dad in the early hours of the morning, trying to understand what he was telling me. She was 53 years old. I turned 46 a few months ago and it keeps hitting me how young she was.
I know that I will see her again. The word of God gives me peace knowing that she is in the arms of God.
We had an amazing mother/daughter relationship. One that I now share with my daughter today. She was my best friend and confidant. She was my biggest supporter. So today, make sure to take a moment and reach out to your family and tell them you love them. Time is precious friends.
The winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come.

Growing up in Los Angeles I never quite understood why spring was called spring. But I remember after my first East Coast winter 10 years ago, shortly after walking outside, I looked down and saw plants that were shooting up several inches, where the day before there had been nothing but cold dirt. New life was literally springing up from the ground.
I was instantly excited and inspired. Winter has become a great time to hunker down and get things prepared for the spring to come. But now the sun is out, the birds are singing, and it's time to launch exciting things.
