You've been assigned the great task of being a secret Santa, and you've found a Kris Kringle present. But what should you write on the Christmas card? Here are some ideas:

Poem 1

A whiffin', sniffin' gift,

Especially for you.

It's from "secret Santa"

Bet you can't guess who!

Winkin', blinkin, just don't nod.

This gift is for your eyes.

It's from secret Santa too,

By now, that's no surprise.

Jingle, jangle, what do I hear?

It's not a reindeer sleigh--

It must be secret Santa,

Hurrying on his way.

Yummy, yummy, tummy tingling.

A tasty, tempting treat.

Won't you be surprised

When we finally meet!

This final gift, for the sense of touch

Might be a bit surprising.

I'm sure you know just who I am,

Without realizing.

Poem 2

Here is a very special gift

Picked especially for you

From your secret admirer

who happens to be your secret pal!

Hope you'll have a jolly Merry Christmas

and a fantastic New Year.

Poem 3

My elves have been busy making this gift just for you,

They told me you're special but I already knew.

As your secret Santa I hope you'll enjoy,

This heartfelt sentiment and new little toy.

Santa knows you need some cheer and a lift,

So please accept this card and little gift.

Just remember that wherever you go,

You have family and friends that love you so.

Poem 4

This special gift is just for you,

I hope you'll enjoy it the whole year through.

As Christmas approaches you'll find out who,

Your secret Santa is and who's fond of you.

This is a gift especially for you,

I'm your secret Santa, I bet you can't guess who.

Poem 5

Accept this gift with a smile on your face,

And expect another one soon in its place.

Spread holiday cheer to family and friends,

Because the joy of Christmas never ends.

Whether you're writing a Christmas card greeting for close friends, family, or your associates, the best way to spread holiday cheer is by.

Funny Christmas Card Sayings

Make your holiday card stand out with a humorous holiday card saying. Just keep your audience in mind when selecting a funny holiday card saying — so as not to confuse or offend anyone with a reference that they don’t connect with.

  • You're super nice. Wanna know how I know? Guy in a big red suit told me.
  • That warm feeling isn't just the Christmas spirit. I think you left the oven on.
  • This holiday season let us treasure what is truly important in all our lives, the reason for the season: Cookies.
  • You know those commercials where the present is a brand new car with a big red bow? Yeah, we're not doing that.
  • We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and you're welcome - that song's now stuck in your head all day.
  • There's pure joy in the discovery that the best presents are the people whose presence is solely for bringing presents.
  • Home is where the Christmas cookies and presents are!
  • Insert fruitcake joke, add ugly sweater = The best xmas card ever made. You are welcome.
  • I might not believe in Santa, but I still believe in a good Christmas card!
  • If you ask Santa for a lump of coal this Christmas, how will we know if you're naughty or nice? I guess we’ll never know…
  • Another Christmas already? Seriously, what the Elf?
  • Did you hear that? It's either the magical jingling of eight flying reindeer pulling a miniature sleigh or it's holiday tinnitus…
  • The 12 days of Christmas guy really had a thing about birds, huh? Let's hope you don’t know anyone crazy enough to give you 23 birds this holiday season.
  • You make me love Christmas even more than I already do. And that's saying something because I have all nine of Santa’s reindeer tattooed on my left thigh.
  • Don't say anything, but I think I just saw that creepy elf on the bookcase actually move.
  • Christmas is not about presents. It's about family... and spiral ham.... and who in the family is bringing the spiral ham?
  • It's your Christmas! March to the beat of your own little drummer boy.
  • Christmas mysteries: What IS tinsel made of? Exactly what categorizes a drink as “nog?” How can I eat just one more cookie? Let's find out together, shall we?
  • The only app I'd like for Christmas is a "hAPPy holiday."
  • Nobody loves Christmas more than me, and I love you even more than Christmas... or at least it's close.
  • Be sure to keep the "mas" in Christmas... as in, "mas regalos por favor!" (Translated from Spanish for: "more presents please!")
  • Bring on the joy! Bring on the cheer! Bring on the present swap game... I always dominate!
  • This holiday, let's be more Christmas Carol ending and less Christmas Story beginning... where he shoots his eye out.
  • "Give me an H! Gimme an O! Gimme an H! Gimme an O! Gimme an H! Gimme an O! What's that spell? HO-HO-HOLIDAY CHEER!
  • You turn candy can't into candy cane!
  • I know we say this every year... but let's actually go carolling... No, I mean it! Our neighbors will looove it...
  • If you warm me with your holiday spirit, I promise to inspire you with my holiday cheer. We'll be disgustingly full of happiness together.

Christmas Messages to Write in Holiday Greeting Cards

holiday card wishes greetings

Old school mall business holiday greeting card checklist

  • Stacks of greeting cards high enough to clear an entire swath of rainforest
  • New package of pens
  • Team of employees ready to sign (and sign and sign)
  • Team of professional masseuses on standby for emergency hand cramps
  • Enough stamps to cover the Empire State Building
  • Bribe large enough to convince one of your team to lick-n-stick those stamps
  • Expensive catered food and drinks to convince them to stick around long enough to get the tedious task completed before the jolly fat man begins his annual rounds

Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Just the same, you know how much you love holiday cards.

(Come on. Admit it. This is a safe place.)

Mail is fun anytime of the year, but there’s something about a holiday card — even if we never get around to sending our own. You can put me firmly in the camp of good intentions and blessed little follow through, but you'd better be willing to bet I check my mail faithfully every day in December hoping for a red or green envelope covered in stamps.

We love the heavy card with Great Aunt Mabel’s shaky handwriting and the requisite school pictures of your third cousin’s step-children. There’s nothing quite like a personalized card to make you feel loved and remembered — exactly the way you want your customers to feel.

But, with time and energy and bandwidth maxed out at this time of year, the idea of sending holiday cards to your customer base can seem unrealistic. Besides, in many cases, your communication has been solely electronic and you don’t even have complete mailing information for all of your clients and prospects.

What’s a good intentioned small business owner to do?

*Ahem* Work smarter, not harder. Naturally.

The small business holiday card remix: Graphic design meets marketing automation.

By combining the power of free online graphic design tools and marketing automation, you can easily create a scalable system for sending not only this year’s holiday cards, but also personalized greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries or client appreciation. Including a coupon, gift or discount from a partner company can maximize the opportunity to truly connect with your customer in a lasting way.

8 reasons to embrace electronic greeting cards

  7. Repeatable
  8. Customizable

What to write in a Christmas card

holiday card wishes greetings

Whether you’re making a photo card for friends and fam that recaps how fab your last year has been, or crafting a graphic stunner to wish your clients well in the next 365, here are some New Year messages perfect for your audience. Peruse them, choose a favorite or two, and add them to one of our designer-crafted templates. Then check “actually send New Year cards” off your resolution list and enjoy being ahead of the game this year!

Happy New Year greetings for professional peeps

Sending New Year cards to clients helps keep your business on their minds, and it’s just a nice thing to do. Sentiments for client cards usually include expressions of appreciation for their business, and/or wishes of success for the upcoming year. Make it genuine, keep your brand voice in mind, and remember to sign it with a “Your friends at [company name],” “The team at [company name],” or your name, if you’re not sending the card on behalf of your office or you’re an office of one.

Here are a couple business-y messages to get your word-generating wheels spinning:

  • Thank you for giving us an opportunity to do what we love, and may you have a successful 2019.
  • Wishing you a joyous holiday season and continued success in the new year.
  • Wishing you a healthy, peaceful, and prosperous new year.
  • Warmest wishes this holiday season. We look forward to making 2019 a successful year together!
  • Wishing you continued inspiration and success in the new year. Happy holidays.

Any of these messages stand pretty well on their own, and using them in a design that doesn’t incorporate photos eliminates the need to round up the entire office and have them wave at the camera. It also looks super profesh.

Tip: You can easily adjust any PicMonkey template to jibe with your brand. Enter the hex values for each of your brand’s colors on the Graphic and Text palettes, or in the Background Color field in the Edits tab. You can also open a branded image (like your logo) as a graphic, then use the eyedropper to instantly match your hues. Top it off by placing your logo as a graphic, and boom! Card branding complete. Check out our intro to templates video tutorial to quickly learn how to make our ready-made designs your own.

Plenty of famous folks have expressed similar sentiments, and they’re totally cool if you lift some of their phrases (with proper attribution, of course). Try one of these quotations out for a different take on a New Year card:
