Sending New Year cards to clients helps keep your business on their minds, and it’s just a nice thing to do. Sentiments for client cards usually include expressions of appreciation for their business, and/or wishes of success for the upcoming year. Make it genuine, keep your brand voice in mind, and remember to sign it with a “Your friends at [company name],” “The team at [company name],” or your name, if you’re not sending the card on behalf of your office or you’re an office of one.
Here are a couple business-y messages to get your word-generating wheels spinning:
Any of these messages stand pretty well on their own, and using them in a design that doesn’t incorporate photos eliminates the need to round up the entire office and have them wave at the camera. It also looks super profesh.
Tip: You can easily adjust any PicMonkey template to jibe with your brand. Enter the hex values for each of your brand’s colors on the Graphic and Text palettes, or in the Background Color field in the Edits tab. You can also open a branded image (like your logo) as a graphic, then use the eyedropper to instantly match your hues. Top it off by placing your logo as a graphic, and boom! Card branding complete. Check out our intro to templates video tutorial to quickly learn how to make our ready-made designs your own.
If you think the new year is a fresh start, a time for optimism and hope, and the perfect moment to let go of last year’s troubles, you’re in good company! Plenty of famous folks have expressed similar sentiments, and they’re totally cool if you lift some of their phrases (with proper attribution, of course). Try one of these quotations out for a different take on a New Year card:

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. -Albert Einstein
May all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s resolutions! -Joey Adams
And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. -Rainer Maria Rilke
Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, Whispering ‘it will be happier.’ -Alfred Lord Tennyson
New Year’s most glorious light is sweet hope! – Mehmet Murat ildan
Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one. – Brad Paisley
Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties. – Helen Keller

Welcoming a new year feels incomplete without a new year greeting card. Since the times have changed, we now send out digital cards.
The French really know how to celebrate New Year's. Indeed, New Year's in France is not just a day, or a day and an evening, but an entire season. Saying "Happy New Year" in French involves knowing basic New Year's greetings as well as learning French New Year's greetings related to the season.
In English, you say "Happy New Year." But the French generally don't say "new" when wishing someone a great year. Instead, in French, you say only "happy year," as in:
The French usually follow this expression with a phrase that literally translates as "have a good health," as in:
To really understand how to send New Year's greetings, it's helpful to learn that in France, citizens celebrate the New Year's (or holiday) season for more than a month.
The holiday season in France starts with la Saint Nicolas on Dec. 6. The holiday season actually ends on Three Kings Day (l'Epiphanie) when you typically eat une galette des rois (a wafer of kings) on Jan. 6.
Confusing matters even more, it's customary to wait to send out your good wishes for a French happy (new) year until the end of January. These examples show what you might write on greeting cards to your French friends wishing them a happy new year.
Though you don't say "new" when wishing someone a happy new year on Dec. 31 or Jan. 1, you can slip the word in when sending someone a card wishing her well at the end of the holiday season, as in:
