Celebrate Birthdays and Work Anniversaries through a Wish Bot

While rewards and recognition play a big role in employee engagement, Kwench believes that greeting employees on important life occasions such as birthdays and work anniversaries goes a long way.

They created a ‘Wish’ Bot to automatically send personalised greetings to employees on important occasions. Their HR uses a simple, user friendly template to upload date-of-birth and date-of-joining of all employees to set it up.

The Wish Bot allows them to

  • Remind managers: Let managers know in advance about their team members’ upcoming occasions
  • Schedule & customise messages: Configure custom messages and e-cards for each occasion
  • Send e-cards: Make posts visually attractive by automatically adding e-cards to each post
  • Celebrate occasions: Greet employees on important occasions such as birthdays, company anniversaries, long service anniversaries, etc.

  • Improves employee experience and adds to the positive dynamics in the team/organisation
  • Advance auto reminder to managers helps them plan celebrations
  • Colleagues across locations/functions can view, react and comment on posts made by the Wish bot wishing people

How to do it in your organisation in three simple steps

  • Visithttps://bots.kwench.comto sign up
  • Create an exciting communication plan to announce the launch of this bot and a simple how-to video showing employees how to interact with it
  • Set up a weekly review cadence for the first six weeks (and monthly thereafter) to assess the performance and decide next steps to realise more value out of it

About Kwench

Kwench is one of the product partners of Workplace. As on Feb 2018, they’re serving 100+ clients in 21+ countries with 200+ bot installations addressing simple to complex use cases like peer-to-peer recognition, award nominations and redemptions, ticketing systems, idea life cycle management, engagement surveys, learning and development etc.

birthday wishes for company anniversary

To help W3C celebrate ten years of Leading the Web to its Full Potential we invited people to send us a greeting. The greeting card closed 31 December 2004.

There are 451 greetings.

Greetings from Viorel Ghelbert

Happy Anniversary, W3C!

Without your effort, the Web definitely wouldn't be as "World Wide" as we know it today.

For this reason I'd like to express my admiration and an infinite gratefulness for everything that you've done for the last 10 years as well as for everything that you will accomplish in the future (and I know you will).

As to "Leading the Web to Its Full Potential" - in my humble opinion - you're on the right path.

Just keep it up!

Web is Changing Me

Kind Attn:W3C

Many thanks to Tim Berners-lee creating such an easy interconnect tool as WWW, to all the participants "to lead the web to its full potential".

I'm from a backward rural area in China, where simple web techniques are suitable to change the traditional chalk+plus+blackboard teaching method. It's regetful that although W3C has walked through ten years, quite a lot of teachers in junior and senior schools in China don't benefit from resources linked together, or even do not touch a computer.

It happened one day was searched, where richness shocked me,and especially the tutorials,I think, concise, authentic, easy to understand, are the very things for me and educators from China rural regions. I have a resolution in 2005 as a volunteer to translate some essays in to Chinese in W3C website.

Best regards,

Frank Lee

A Decade Without Peers

I've enjoyed the Internet and all its glory of potential from early in my military days during its infancy when it was not yet the WWW. As a want-to-be web designer in more recent times, I've found W3C to be the premier source for information, resources, and yes, humility. As W3C marks this occasion, may we all be grateful for thier continued diligence in quality web surfing experiences.

W3C is peerless! Happy Birthday!

Thank You

Sir Berners-Lee,

I would like to thank you and the w3c for It has proved to be an invaluable resource to my career as a programmer. The documentation is impeccable, and has been relied upon to ensure correct and reliable operation of our coding with regard to CGI, html and HTTP, often on a daily basis.

Here's to another 10 years of stewardship and guidance. I honestly can't see how the www would operate without standards, documentation of those standards, and ready availability of the information organized and provided by the w3c. All of the accolades the w3c is recieving, on this 10th anniversary, cannot possibly illustrate the true importance and positive impact the w3c has had on the lives of hundreds of millions of people including myself. Most people don't know who the w3c is, yet unknowingly benefit from the quiet pursuit of your work, in their daily lives.

Thank you for the internetwork's information standard as we know it today. The internetwork's capability to provide useful information to anyone with a browser or other standards based network client is largely due to the efforts of you and your organization. It's been a very bumpy road, I am sure, but the perseverence of you and the w3c has and will continue to pay off, more and more every year, with each new user.

Here's to many returns.

10 years of good work

Congratulations with your 10-year anniversary, which has avoided unnecessary chaos in the information exchange on the Internet and has brought us some very well-designed standards for everyone to use.

I wish you luck in your future standards design work, which will lead to more effective and flexible information storage and exchange between different platforms and applications.

If I would have one wish for your future work, it would be: Keep sticking to open, unencumbered file formats which you've done so far, without letting commercial interests influence the design process in a way that is unneccesarily complicated or ineffective. You've done great so far.

10 Years? You Don't Look a Day Over 100!

In other words, it's hard to believe the W3C is *only* 10 years old. It seems the organization has been with us forever. Yes, I vaguely recall the halcyon days of the Web before W3C was formed. And I even dimly remember what the world was like before the Web. But HTTP, HTML, XML, and all the numerous other specifications that the W3C has brought to fruition are such a part of our lives, especially those of us working in technology.

Thank you, W3C, for all your labors of love over the past 10 years. I can't wait to see what your fertile minds will conjure up in the next 10 years!

Sustaining the W3

I find it re-assuring to know this organisation has been overseeing and assisting developments in the Web for ten years now. As new technologies will emerge it is imperative to keep perspective on the original goals and not let any one organisation or company monopolise its use, as this remains one of the largest threats to one of the last bastions of true democracy. Furthermore I hope coming generations will honour the guidelines set out by W3 as well.

Congratulations W3 and thank you for taking this responsibility so well.

W3C works hard and often hands in good work. But it will have to resist the temptation to rest on its laurels next year. Its work sometimes suffers, as it is easily distracted by some of the noisier standards organisations in the class and so needs to work on its self-discipline and concentraion. Its spelling, dress sense and general tidyness could also improve.

Greetings from Hungary!

Come join us!

My gratitude for the dedication, hard work, creativity, and commitment of W3C staff and participating members. My time working with you has been the most interesting, challenging, and fun of my career. This is a very impressive organization, with an amazing group of people!

I encourage companies and people all over the world to get involved. If YOU are 'in the room', you can ensure your concerns and ideas about new web technologies are considered.

We've come a long way, but there is so much more to do. To those who seek to undermine this work -- cut it out! A rising tide lifts all boats; get on board! We need collaboration with all, so the web will work for all.

I can't stress enough how Mozilla have made me want to work the web again after several years of non-interest because of Microsoft playing lip service to standards.

Happy Birthday

Great stuff everybody!

I was only 6 years old when the W3C was founded. I remember first using the web on an old Mac with Netscape 3. There were less pictures back then ;) Nevertheless, I was enthralled, and will never forget that day.

May the blink tag forever rest in peace!

Anyway, thanks for creating CSS and other such methods that separate content from visual descriptions. In fact, thanks for everything. The Web wouldn't be the same without you guys!

so young!

Wow--it seems, to us youn'ins here, almost as if the web has been around forever: how did people learn things, quickly and on obscure topics, or communicate easily, without it?

And yet, it's younger than the current college freshmen, who don't even remember the Berlin Wall falling, much less life before the internet.

Thank you--it has made so many aspects of my life so much easier than they otherwise would have been, to have an accessible, universally standardized system for worldwide communication. What a thrilling time to be alive and learning! Also, thanks for saving so many trees and so much time.

As to changes, besides the obvious possible further improvements speed and reliability, it would be nice to see a standard for how recently a page has been updated. I also hope that more of the legalistic (eg copyright, filtering, corporate control issues), logistical wrinkles get ironed out, and that access becomes even more useful (via unbiased searches and such) and universal (accesible, available, cheap, language support...).

Many returns!

Happy birthday

Thanks for all the work on defining common standards. Long live w3C !

w3c kicks butt!

Happy big one-oh!

I'm profoundly grateful for the efforts of everyone at the w3c. I have been in web development since the dark age of non-standards compliant browsers. I'm so ecstatic not to have to write the same script for three times for three different DOMs. I love that I can say, nope sorry that - browser - code - script - whatever - is not w3c standards compliant, sorry!

Thanks for that!

Bon anniversaire !

Bon anniversaire au W3C et bonne continuation. J'espère que les standards seront de plus en plus respectés, en particulier par l'enormes société qui produit entre autre un navigateur web très diffusé.

Greeting from Ryan Hayes

The immense alturism of the W3C has helped push the web forward in ways that ten years ago seemed unimaginable. Hopefully the next ten years will be as progressive as these last ten years have been. Cheers!

Joyeux Anniversaire

Congratulations from a non-technical user

Best wishes for many years of adding value to the internet. I'm an editor, not a programmer or computer programmer, but I do use your resources as the highest standard by which to measure all manner of Web issues. You are a wonderful reference point. Keep up the good work.

Sonja Elson

Greeting from

Thank you very much for your hard work to come up with standards that bring the world together. The web is both a cost effective and very clean publishing solution for all of us. Even students in primary and secondary schools could now publish their work on the web.

Your work is influencing every one in many different ways. Learning is no longer limited to the classroom as the web now becomes the greatest learning resources. Organisations of all sizes including governments, non-profits and businesses make use of the web in many different ways. Both the intranet and the web become part of our daily life.

I hope in the years to come you will make the web even more useful and friendly. Your work on VoiceXML will make the web more accessible. I hope you will add skeletal strokes to SVG one day. I am also looking forward to the day when all of us could enjoy 3D on the web and when semantic web becomes part of our daily life.

I wish all of you healthy and happy!
