Madge sets sights on Ray

South African MMA star Don Madge is pushing to fight Steven Ray in his next UFC assignment.

Madge (8-3-1) respectfully called out Ray (22-8) on social media, and the Scot appears up for the challenge.

If the duo get their way they could meet on the promotion’s Sweden card in Stockholm on June 1.

Madge, who trains at Coach Quan University in Johannesburg, enjoyed a dream UFC debut as he knocked out Te Edwards (6-3) with a second-round head kick in Moncton, Canada on October 27, 2018.

The ex-EFC lightweight champion earned a $50 000 performance bonus for his efforts, as he garnered global attention and joined Garreth McLellan (13-6) and Trevor Prangley (34-11) in registering rare victories in the octagon for fighters from SA.

On the same night, Ray, who has won six of nine UFC bouts, snapped a two-fight skid with a unanimous decision win over Jessin Ayari (16-5).
